Duties:

This part-time position serves as a Food Service Worker within Nutrition and Food Services located at the Western New York Healthcare System in Batavia, NY. The major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: setting up food, working on tray lines, serving dining room residents, delivering trays to patients; washing dishes and general cleaning; working in one or more function areas of the kitchen such as food preparation, dish and pot washing, dry and refrigerated storage and receiving, and serving lines; sets up all menu items such as entrees, salads, desserts, bread and beverages for serving lines; sets up glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, tray tickets, napkins, condiments, hot and cold food items for cafeteria/tray lines, steam tables, dining room tables and side service stands; uses tray tickets to service proper portions of food and replenishes meal items on tray line or in dining rooms during meal service; assists in putting tray tickets in order and adjusting trays as required; operates elevator and transports food trucks to and from patient wards; transports food and supplies from receiving areas to refrigerators, freezer, and ingredient control room following established policies and procedures; stores and rotates stock items; cleans all assigned work areas and all equipment in Nutrition and Food Service which involves sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors, using a floor machine, scraping and washing dishes/pots and pans, walk-in refrigerators, walls and windows, and sanitizing trash containers; disposes of waste and trash from the main kitchen to designated areas, and performs other duties as assigned.

 

Work Schedule: Work days to be determined: 7am-10am, 10:30-1:30, 11am-2pm, 4p-7p, subject to change based on agency needs.

      EXPERIENCE:  A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position.       SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT:  Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. The potential eligibles are then rated against the remainder of the questions.
